Description
Rehabilitation of a 1400m long 375NB RCRRJ rising main by slip-lining. A new 355OD HDPE rising main was inserted into the rising main to extend the life of the asset.
We adopted a number of techniques to install the pipe in a way that minimised impact on the public and was cost effective. Using our customised equipment insertions up to 400m length were made possible. This approach reduced the number of pits and impact on the road users.
We designed and implemented a simple flow management system to maintain flows from the three upstream pump stations, and slip-lined the pipe using our custom built 500kN linear winch.
